Tree Stump Removal
This page is designed to help you learn more about Tree Stump Removal
Operations on tree stumps after felling
After felling, the stump should be cut off neatly as close to ground level as is practicable, unless otherwise directed.
Stumps that are likely to regenerate after felling should be treated with a suitable herbicide to inhibit re-growth.
Stump and root removal
The area and depth within which stump and roots are to be removed should be clearly stated. The work should be done by grubbing out by hand or with suitable machinery, or by stump grinding machine.
Expert’s advice should be sought on the most suitable technique for the type, size, species and position of the stump and proposed future use of the cleared site.
The area around the stump to be ground or dug out should be scanned prior to operations commencing by a competent person using a cat scan to ascertain whether there are any underground electrical services that may be compromised during the stump removal process. Service layout plans should be provided, where possible, by the client to ensure that no damage is caused. Stumps removed from the soil should be transported to a disposal site.
