Qualified to Reassure

We are an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor which means that we work to BS3998: 1989 Recommendations for Tree Work. This means that we are one of only approximately 220 such companies throughout the UK and Ireland. The Arboricultural Association expects very high standards which restrict the number of successful applicants. Because of the irrevocable nature of all operations concerning tree care these standards are carefully maintained by inspection of the recommended contractors. This means that you can trust in Jenks to provide a professional service of guaranteed quality to give the very best care for your trees.

All our works are covered by a 10 million pound liability insurance. We are county council approved contractors and our staff are Criminal Records Buraeu (CRB) checked.

Staff qualifications

We take training and qualifications very seriously at Jenks which ensures the safety of our staff and that of the public. It means you can have faith that we know what we are doing and are doing it correctly and safely.

Qualifications held by our staff include:

Technicians certificate in Arboriculture from the Arboriculture association
Diplomas in Forestry and arboriculture.
Degrees in Biology, Philosophy (!)
Royal Forestry Society certificate in Arboriculture.
HND Garden Design.

National Proficiency Test Coucil (NPTC) qualifications:
Chainsaw use and maintenance
Felling small, medium and large trees
Climb trees and perform aerial rescue
Use a chainsaw form a rope and harness
Stump grinder operations
Brushwood chipper operations
Pruning operations
Undertake sectional felling

Health and Safety

Health and safety is at the forefront of our operations. We recognise that the saftey of our staff, you the client and the public is paramount before, during and after any work is carried out. As such, we run vigorous in-house and external training, checks, and auditing of all our practises, machinery and equipment.

As a basic, all our staff are trained in first aid as appointed persons.

We are also Exor and Chas accredited.
